Social Marketing Company, the largest supplier of packaged Oral Rehydration Salt in the country, commissioned the fourth line for “ORSaline” at its factory located in Bhaluka, Mymensingh on April 28, 2008. It also commissioned its newly constructed Central Ware House (CWH) at the factory premises on the same day.

The fourth line was switched on by USAID Mission Director in Dhaka Ms. Denise Rollins, after she, along with Chairperson of SMC Board of Directors Mr. Jalaluddin Ahmed inaugurated the new warehouse at the factory complex. The new ORS production line will add about 50 million sachets annually to the current full production capacity of about 170 million sachets of ORS.

Members of the SMC Board of Directors, SMC Managing Director, Director PHN of USAID/Dhaka Ms. Sheri-Nouane Johnson, General Manager (Administration) of SMC Mr. Sekandar Hayat Khan, General Manager SMC Factory Mr. Ali Reza Khan, Central Warehouse Manager Mr. M. Mahbubur Rahman and other high officials from SMC and USAID were present on the occasion.
