Mr. Mohammad Abdul Qayyum, Director General, Directorate of Family Planning, Government of Bangladesh along with his associates visited SMC Factory Complex and Central Ware House in Bhaluka, Mymensingh on December 30, 2009.

During the visit, the DG was briefed about SMC’s activities including ORS production and its quality assurance system. He visited the formulation and re-packaging unit and was impressed with the quality standard that SMC maintains. The DG was informed that the annual production capacity of the ORS factory is 210 million sachets of ORSaline-N and the manpower engaged in the complex is 400 personnel.

The DG also praised the role of SMC in family planning and public health care sector. He commented: "…..The management (of SMC) are capable and competent to run this excellent initiative. In the health sector the contribution of SMC is incomparable. I wish every success."
