Social Marketing Company (SMC) organized an event to celebrate the Global Hand Washing Day on October 15, 2009. It was held at the Shabuj Shongho field of Tejgaon, Dhaka and in Kepri cinema hall of Tongi, Gazipur with hundreds of kids and their parents participating in these day-long activities. The objective of the program was to generate awareness on the importance of hand washing. Hand washing techniques were demonstrated and practiced by the participants at the venue. Soaps and informative leaflets were distributed amongst the participants. Fun-filled quiz contest was arranged for the kids. A rally of kids carrying flags and banners with key messages was organized in both the areas. The Managing Director of SMC was present amongst the kids to inspire them and distributed gifts to the winners of the quiz contests.
