SMC is playing an important role to reduce Maternal and Neonatal Mortality and Morbidity in Barisal Division by creating awareness among the target population. To raise community awareness “Jatone Raton” was developed to improve the situation under MNH Program in 2008. This project was designed as pilot to implement in two (2) districts of Barisal division (Barisal & Patuakhali) because mothers in this division are the least likely to receive antenatal care from medically trained provider and home delivery is also highest in this area. In addition the neonatal and post neonatal death is also high in compare to other divisions.
CAMPAIGN GOAL
To reduce Maternal and Neonatal mortality and morbidity in intervention area by creating awareness among the target population
Program Strategies:
- Strengthen capacity of BSP to provide essential maternal health information, services and referral
- Intensify the local promotional activities to increase service demand by the target audience through campaign on “Jotone Roton” at local level
- Promote Clean Delivery at home
