US Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. James F. Moriarty along with visiting Colonel W. Faulkner of the US Marine Corps visited a Blue Star outlet in Rangpur as part of a scheduled programme in the district in August 2008. They visited the outlet of NGMP Mr. A. Karim Talukdar, at Uttam Bazaar, Taragonj. The Ambassador talked to the provider and also to the clients who happened to be visiting the chamber at that time. He was briefed on the activities on the Blue Star Programme in Rangpur by Sales Manager Rangpur Mr. Saifuddin Haroon, and he also took keen interest in the products kept in the pharmacy. Among others, high officials from the US Embassy including CTO/USAID Mr. M. Nasiruzzaman were present on the occasion.
