Observance of World Population Day 2022


The World Population Day (WPD) 2022 was observed by the community mobilization partners on July 21, 2022 under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Family welfare. The theme of this year's WPD was ‘A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all - Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all'. Nine MISHD upazilas (six under PSTC and three under Shimantik) received best performing awards from local government officials for promoting awareness on personal health and hygiene, nutrition, child marriage and gender issues.

In addition, SMC's Deputy Managing Director Mr. Toslim Uddin Khan took part in special TV talk shows hosted by RTV and Deepto TV on the occasion of WPD 2022. Moreover, an article on stopping child marriage along with two advertisements on SOMA-JECT and Femicon were published in the souvenir of WPD 2022 which was disseminated among the Members of the Parliament, policy makers, high dignitaries of different Ministries and Directorates, program managers, NGO/INGO representatives.
