Blue Star Network Expansion

SMC continues to expand the Blue Star Network utilizing own resources. As part of this initiative, SMC included more than 1,000 Non-graduate Medical Practitioners (NGMPs) under Blue Star Network in FY 2021-22. As of February 2022, all newly selected NGMPs as BS providers have received basic training organized by the SMC training team. The training sessions were conducted in collaboration with the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP). Different Line Directors and Program Managers of the Clinical Contraception Service Delivery Programme (CCSDP) unit of DGFP observed the training events in different districts. The Deputy Director of Family Planning from the respective areas attended the trainings and facilitated different sessions as part of their regular supervision and monitoring responsibilities. The major focuses of the training module were Family Planning Methods with special emphasis on Contraceptive Injectables, Counseling Skills, Family Planning Compliance, Nutrition, Growth Monitoring and Promotion (GMP) including Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), priority public health services and record keeping and reporting process.
