SMC signed an MOU with the Obstetrical & Gynecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB) in January 2015 to help strengthen collaboration between the two organizations for improving the quality and effectiveness of the program in promoting long acting reversible contraceptive methods through graduate providers. The MOU was signed by Prof. Rowshan Ara Begum, President, OGSB and Mr. Ashfaq Rahman, MD and CEO, SMC on behalf of their respective organizations. Following the signing ceremony, OGSB in collaboration with SMC organized a workshop titled ‘National Planning and Advocacy Workshop’ on March 15, 2015. Key members from OGSB central committee and 12 branch offices attended the workshop. Members worked in groups to develop an action plan with well-defined roles for SMC and OGSB that will help to strengthen LARC service delivery across Bangladesh. Regional meeting will take place in each of the OGSB branches all year round to keep the momentum gained from the national workshop and translate the objective set in the MOU into action.
