SMC Holds Annual Company Conference for FY-2014

Social Marketing Company (SMC), one of the largest and most successful private sector Social Marketing organizations in family planning and child health globally, held its Annual Company Conference for the Fiscal Year 2014 at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka on May 24, 2015. Mr. Muhammed Ali, Chairman of the SMC Board of Directors, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The conference showcased the sales performance of FY 2014 and recognized the sales team for their commendable contribution. Best achievers from all 12 SMC area offices were recognized with a token of appreciation for their outstanding performance.

DGM, Sales of SMC Enterprise Ltd Mr. Sayedur Rahman presented FY 2014 performance. During FY 2014, SMC distributed 40.13 million cycles of Oral Contraceptive Pills, almost 155.78 million condoms and 1.40 million vials of Injectables protecting over 4.336 million couples in the country from having unplanned pregnancies. In addition, SMC sold about 469.0 million sachets of ORSaline-N, 12.08 million sachets of MoniMix or micronutrient powder for children, 0.62 million SMC Zinc blisters, 1.15 million of Joya sanitary napkins and almost 178,000 packets of Safe Delivery Kits. SMC revenues also grew impressively by 23% over the previous year, Mr. Sayedur mentioned.”

Mr. Muhammed Ali thanked the sales team for their dedication and hard work in achieving the target in FY 2014. He said, I highly appreciate your substantial contribution in improving family planning, health and nutrition conditions across the country. Managing Director of SMC Enterprise Limited Md. Ali Reza Khan said, the sales performance in FY 2014 was very impressive. With the separation of SMC Enterprise Ltd in FY 2015, our responsibility becomes bigger and more challenging with higher revenue targets set under the 5-year strategic plan. But I have this strong faith in my sale force that you will put your sincere efforts together, quickly understand and adapt to market realities and try to excel despite all setbacks.

Managing Director & CEO of SMC Holding Mr. Ashfaq Rahman congratulated the sales team for their good performance in FY 2014. He highlighted key points from the 5-year strategic planning designed to materialize SMC’s Vision 2020. Mr. Ashfaq said, I am happy to have you all together today and share the roadmap that will lead you to where we want to be in 5 years time.

Among others SMC board members and officials, Dr. Sukumar Sarker, Senior Technical and Policy Advisor, OPHNE, USAID were present at the occasion. The conference was followed by a cultural program and a dinner.
