SMC, WaterAid and The Daily Kaler Kantho jointly organized a roundtable to mark the Menstrual Hygiene Management Day in May 2015 at the Kaler Kantho premises. Women representatives from education, business, sports, media, health and other sectors attended the roundtable titled ‘Let us talk about menstruation’. The speakers stressed the need for creating awareness among women, particularly adolescent girls about menstruation to prevent menstruation-related health problems and break the taboo associated with periods.

Women and Children Affairs Minister Meher Afroz Chumki spoke at the programme as the chief guest. Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon, SMC Corporate Affairs Manager and CSR Committee Head Shaila Purvin and Water Aid Program and Policy Director Hasin Jahan spoke at the programme among others.
