Shishu Pusti Campaign

 

SMC has been implementing various activities across the country involving its star networks to address pressing family planning, public health and nutrition issues. In order to boost child nutrition in Bangladesh, SMC conducted a two-day long Shishu Pusti Campaign (Child Nutrition Campaign) across the country during March 20-21, 2023. The main purpose of the campaign was to improve the nutritional status of children under five (6 months to 5 years), promote growth monitoring and also to popularize exclusive breastfeeding for children up to six months. On this occasion, Mr. Toslim Uddin Khan, Managing Director and CEO, SMC visited Blue Star outlets at Hemayetpur, Savar, Dhaka on 21st March to motivate the providers to increasingly offer GMP services and MoniMix to the under five children. Mr. Khan also spoke to the journalists of print and electronic media there and briefed them about the objective of the campaign. It is to be noted that the event was covered by the leading private TV channels of the country (Channel I, RTV, ATN Bangla, Shomoy, DBC News, mytv, Nagorik TV). During the 2-day long campaign, about 6.0 million sachets of MoniMix were sold which is equivalent to two months sales covering 12,478 network and non-network outlets and approximately 5,400 children (<5) received GMP services from the Blue Stars providers.
