Mr. Siddiqur Rahman Choudhury, Director of SMC and SMC EL Board, visited Sylhet region during May 27-28, 2023 to understand the progress of program and sales activities. Mr. Toslim Uddin Khan, MD & CEO of SMC and other senior officials from both SMC and SMC EL accompanied him.

On May 27th, Mr. Choudhury visited a Blue Star outlet located at Baluchar, Sylhet Sadar. He had a thorough discussion with the Blue Star Provider, Ms. Asma, regarding service-related matters. Subsequently, Mr. Choudhury attended a meeting session at the Sylhet Area Office, where he interacted with the sales and field operation teams. During the session, the Sales and Pharma teams presented a comprehensive overview of their activities along with the growth trends.

The following day, May 28th, Mr. Choudhury attended a "Ma Shomabesh (mother gathering)" in Rajnagar, an MMS intervention upazilaof Moulvibazar district. He talked with expectant mothers during the session. Dr. Afzalur Rahman, Upazilla Health and Family Planning Officer, provided antenatal care services to 19 pregnant women, which included monitoring blood pressure, measuring weight, offering nutritional counseling, and educating them on the five danger signs of pregnancy. In the course of the conversation, Mr. Toslim Uddin Khan emphasized that such interventions would have a significant impact on ensuring favorable pregnancy outcomes in Bangladesh.

Later, Mr. Choudhury visited a Green Star outlet located at the mission road in Srimangal, and also had a conversation with the provider, Mr. Poritosh Chakrabarty. Subsequent to this visit, he attended an experience sharing meeting of the Gold Star Members (GSM) at the Brac Learning Center in Srimangal. A total of 220 GSMs, along with Community Mobilizers and Upazila Supervisors from Habiganj district participated in the program. Aside from the interactive discussions, outstanding GSMs were recognized and awarded. The event received coverage from the electronic media.

During his visit, Mr. Choudhury emphasized on strengthening the coordination among the field forces, urging increased commitment and the enhancement of GSMs' capabilities to achieve organizational goals. He also highlighted the importance of promoting MoniMix, Vermicid, FullCare and Jaya Sanitary Napkin, while ensuring a seamless supply of these products to the GSMs.
