Engaging Rose Star Providers to Offer Growth Monitoring and Promotion Services
The Rose Star Program is one of the promising initiatives to improve the nutritional status of children under five years through offering Growth, Monitoring and Promotion (GMP) services in the private sector. SMC started providing orientation on GMP and Program activities to the pediatricians and their assistants mostly who are associated with the Rose Star Network. The training sessions are furnished to align with the national guideline of the Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN). This year, SMC organized three orientation sessions in Sylhet, Rajshahi and Bogura during January-March, 2022. A total of 47 pediatricians joined these events. President of Bangladesh Paediatric Association, Sylhet Branch, Dr. Mojibul Haque was present at the Sylhet event. In Rajshahi, Professor Dr. Sanaul Haque and Professor Dr. Md. Belal Uddin joined the event. Professor Dr. Golam Mostafa and Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, current and former Head of Department, Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital were present among others at the Bogura event. SMC will promote the pediatricians' private chambers as GMP service delivery centers by providing signboards and different branding materials.
