SMC continues its effort to engage Obstetricians & Gynecologists (OBGYN) to offer Long-acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC) and prescribe FullCare, the Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) during their private practice. SMC organized an event in Dhaka on August 03, 2022 where about 110 OBGYNs attended who are associated with the Pink Star network. Professor Dr. Ferdousi Begum, President of OGSB, presented global and local research findings magnifying the evidence in favor of MMS that reduces low birth weight, pre-term and small for gestational age. She unscored the need for prescribing MMS to improve the nutrition status of pregnant women.

Mr. Waliul Islam, Chairman, Board of Directors of SMC & SMC EL, Mr. Ali Reza Khan, MD & CEO, SMC, Mr. Toslim Uddin Khan, Deputy Managing Director, SMC, Professor Dr. Farhana Dewan, President-Elect, OGSB, Professor Dr. Saleha Begum Chowdhury, immediate past Secretary General of OGSB were present on the occasion. Dr. Fida Mehran, Health Specialist, USAID also emphasized on creating demand for LARC services.
