Awareness Building on Menstrual Hygiene by SMC EL

 

SMC EL continues its awareness building efforts across the country highlighting the importance of personal health and menstrual hygiene management targeting the adolescent girls and young women and also promote hygiene products of SMC which are of good quality and affordable as well.

Dhaka East Area Office of SMC EL conducted a school activation program at Monija Rahman High School and College, Gendaria, Dhaka on August 31, 2022. Dr. Ferdousi Rahman, Consultant (Gynecology), discussed the pressing health issues of adolescent girls and the importance of menstrual hygiene management. Mr. Nasir Uddin, Sales Manager, SMC EL discussed the features, advantages and benefits of Joya Sanitary Napkin with female students. The school authority thanked SMC management for arranging such awareness building sessions for the female students. Later, 576 packs of Joya Sanitary Napkins (Joya Wings) were distributed amongst the articipants.

On September 4, 2022, Rangpur Area Office of SMC EL organized two awareness building sessions on Personal Health and Hygiene at the Police Training Center, Rangpur attended by 489 female police constables in two batches. Dr. Munira Begum, Assistant Professor, Community Medicine Department, Rangpur Medical College, joined the program as the keynote speaker. She elaborated the importance of hygiene management and answered different queries of the participants. Mr. Basuedev Banik, Commandant (Deputy Inspector General), Police Training Center, Rangpur was present at the program and
thanked SMC management for taking such a noble initiative.

On September 20, 2022, Chattogram Area Office organized a session on personal hygiene management at Adhunagor Islamia Kamil Madrasa, Lohagora, Chattogram. Dr. Razia Sultana Akhi (Gynecologist), the keynote speaker, elaborated issues related to menstruation and hygiene practices. She also highlighted the features and benefits of Joya Sanitary Napkin and how the product can help proper hygiene management for the females during their menstruation. Mr. Nurul Islam, Upazilla Education Officer was present in the program as the chief guest. The session was ended through a quiz competition amongst the participants. At the end of the program, Mr. Abu Musa Md. Khaled Jamil, Principal of the Madrasa appreciated the effort of SMC EL for organizing the session for the female students.
