Social Marketing Company’s 20th Annual General Meeting Elects New Chairperson of the SMC Board of Directors
Social Marketing Company, the largest not-for-profit social marketing organisation for a single country, held its 20th Annual General Meeting on May 04, 2013 in Dhaka. It also elected Mr. Muhammed Ali as the new Chairperson of SMC Board.
Barrister A. K. M. Nazrul Islam, assigned Chairperson by the Company Court presided over the meeting. The AGM approved Directors Report and Auditors Report for the year ended 30th September 2008 and elected 6 (Six) Directors. The AGM also appointed Auditors for the following year.
After the AGM, a Special Meeting was held and the Directors unanimously elected Mr. Muhammed Ali as the new Chairperson of SMC Board. A former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, Mr. Muhammed Ali worked in various responsible positions in the public sector and also contributed efficiently in governing and policy making in many other organizations. Mr. Ali also has vast experience in the country’s health sector.
