Social Marketing Company’s 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th Annual General Meetings Held - Elects New Chairperson of the SMC Board of Directors
Social Marketing Company (SMC) held its 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th Annual General Meetings on September 17, 2013 at the Company Head Office in Dhaka. Barrister A. K. M. Nazrul Islam, independent Chairperson assigned by the Company Court, presided over the meeting.
The AGM elected the Directors of the Company and formed a new Board of Directors. SMC has now entered into a new era of legal entity and from now on, the Board will be governed by the Memorandum and the Articles of Association of SMC.
Following the 24th AGM, in a special meeting held on the same day, the Directors unanimously elected Mr. Muhammed Ali as the new Chairperson of the SMC Board of Directors for the next two years. A former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, Mr. Muhammed Ali had held various positions of responsibility in the public sector. He also has vast experience in the country’s health sector.
Mr. Muhammed Ali after being elected Chairman expressed his gratitude and thanks to the Board of Directors of SMC for electing him and having trust in him. He sought support and cooperation from all Board Members, stakeholders and employees of SMC in his endeavour to take SMC to new heights.
